Ulla Vedel is a ceramic artist, educated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. In addition, she has completed the program Communication of Arts and Culture, which was offered by Odsherred Theater School in collaboration with University College Sjælland. Vedel has previously worked on various decorations in collaboration with visual artists and craftsmen, but now focuses on the production of handicrafts. She is very interested in the possibilities that lie in porcelain. It can be stubborn and difficult to work with, but it is also a unique material. She makes things that require great precision, like her ceramic lid pots, but also more playful things like her “sea anemone bowl”. Ulla Vedel is a member of Danske Kunsthåndværkere and is a member of the board at the Ovnhusmarked; a censured marked for crafts and design, taking place in Nykøbing Sj. every year in July.
